COVID-19: 341 new cases, 2,179 recoveries in 24 hours

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 341 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 69,213.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 160 cases from the greater Male’ region, 153 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 28 cases from operational resorts.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 15,621 active cases. There are 146 patients in hospitals. 5,190 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

HPA statistics also show that 2,179 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 53,392.

The Maldives has recorded 191 COVID-19 deaths.
