COVID-19: Maldives records 703 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 703 additional cases of the new coronavirus, increasing confirmed coronavirus cases in Maldives to 33,368.

According to HPA, the 703 new cases include; 526 cases from the greater Male’ region, 167 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 7 cases from operational resorts, and 3 cases from industrial islands.

Meanwhile, 202 additional coronavirus patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 25,675.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 7,607 active cases.

There are 203 patients in hospitals.

3,574 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for the new coronavirus over the last 24-hours.

With the 703 new infections this Thursday, 3,998 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

May 4: 601 cases

May 3: 585 cases

May 2: 508 cases

May 1: 402 cases

April 30: 465 cases

 

78 coronavirus patients have died from complications.
