COVID-19: Maldives confirms 22 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 22 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,348.

With the new cases, Maldives has a total of 634 active cases. 

According to HPA, 15 of the new cases were confirmed from the greater Male’ region. Four cases were reported from inhabited islands, while three were confirmed from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 19 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 12,659.

There are a total of 61 patients in the hospital. 

HPA specified that 1,966 samples were collected for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Health officials have so far collected 267,308 samples for the virus.

48 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
