COVID-19: 79-year old patient passes away, 43rd death

Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has announced that a 79-year old patient has passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives. 

This is the 43rd death related to the virus in the Maldives. The time of death is recorded as 10:50. HEOC specified that the deceased is a local male.

HEOC said that the individual was receiving treatment at the ICU of the Hulhumale Medical Facility.

The Maldives has now confirmed 12,154 cases of COVID-19 since identifying the first case back in March. As of currently, the nation has 843 active cases. A total of 11,262 patients have made full recoveries from the virus as well.
