COVID-19: Maldives records 39 new cases, 32 recoveries

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 39 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 11,932.

According to HPA, the new cases include 20 locals and 19 foreigners.

32 of the cases were identified from the greater Male’ region, while the remaining seven cases were identified from other atolls.

Meanwhile, 32 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 11,041.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 845 active cases.

There are 212 patients in isolation facilities and 54 in hospitals.

1,473 samples have been tested for the COVID-19 over the last 24 hours.

November 6: 39 cases

November 5: 71 cases

November 4: 26 cases

November 3: 59 cases

November 2: 36 cases

November 1: 42 cases

October 31: 16 cases

39 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.

There are active cases in 15 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area.

There are also active cases in 28 resorts, including 52 tourists and 120 staff.
