Civil Service Commission to be informed within 24 hours of suspensions

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has stated that it is to be informed within 24 hours of a civil servant being notified to withstand from attending office. 

The CSC cited the Civil Service Regulation in making the announcement. The regulation article cited by the CSC includes four clauses. They include instances where the civil servant is under investigation and may attempt to tamper with evidence, or when a customer may be subjected to direct harm.

Moreover, the clauses also include instances where the civil servant may violate the protections granted to certain individuals. 

CSC said that despite the regulations it had noticed that the commission was not being notified of such suspensions and advised institutions to adhere to the relevant regulations.
