Van loses control on airport runway, falls into sea

A van has fallen into the sea after losing control on the southern tip of the runway of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

A Police Media Official said that the incident took place at around 11:30am this morning, because the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The driver, who was the only person in the van, was injured to some extent.

Police informed that the Maldivian driver of the GMR van managed to open the door and exit the vehicle, and that GMR personnel have now taken the driver to Hulhumale’ Hospital.
