Court order to Police to produce Nasheed in Court appealed

The Court order to the Police to produce former President Mohamed Nasheed in Court today at 4:00pm for the trial on the illegal arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdullah Mohamed, has been appealed.

Member of Nasheed’s legal team, Hisaan Hussain said that the Hulhumale’ Court decision was appealed to High Court this morning.

Hisaan said that a request was also made to postpone the trial until the High Court makes a decision on this matter.

“We appealed the case to High Court this morning, and also requested for a temporary order to postpone the trial against Nasheed until a decision is made by High Court,” Hisaan said.

Police said yesterday that despite the order by Hulhumale’ Court, Nasheed can only be produced in Court with his consent.
