Ministry of Education begins new round of Skills Program

The Ministry of Education has launched last night a new round of courses under the government’s Skill Program, which has been devised with view to provide young, unskilled or untrained and unemployed persons to learn some professions.

The Ministry of Education said that the new round included courses on vehicle operation, carpentry, and tour guiding.

The ceremony to launch the new courses was held last night at the Seminar Room of the Social Centre, and the chief guest of the ceremony was Mahmood Raazi, the Minister of Economic Development.

Speaking in the ceremony, Raazi said that the purpose of the program was “to enable young persons to find ways of decent earnings and contribute to the economy of the country”. He also said that the government’s target was to carry out the program as a public-private sector joint venture.
