PPM to hold commemoration ceremony for Dr Afrasheem

The Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has decided to hold a commemoration ceremony in the memory of the late Member of Parliament for Ungoofaaru constituency, Dr Afrasheem Ali, who was stabbed to death late last night.

The Party’s Vice President and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom said while speaking to reporters after an emergency meeting of the party’s council, that the council had made the decision to hold a commemoration ceremony for Dr Afrasheem.

Gayyoom said that this decision was made to emphasize the value of Dr Afrasheem’s services to the country, and to explain to people his political views, level of education and courage.

No date has yet been decided for this ceremony.

Gayyoom said that PPM would like to compile all of Dr Afrasheem’s religious speeches and convey all possible information in this regard to the people of Maldives.
