Petrol and diesel prices increase also at Meridium Services

Private company Meridium Services has also increased petrol and diesel prices.

Meridum Services said that it has increased the price of petrol by 47 laari per litre and the price of diesel by 49 laari per litre; thereby increasing the price of petrol from MVR16.93 per litre to MVR17.40 per litre and the price of diesel from MVR16.15 per litre to MVR16.64 per litre.

An official of Meridum Services said that said that the price hike follows increases in petrol and diesel prices in the world market.

Meanwhile, State Trading Organisation (STO) has also increased per litre prices of petrol and diesel by 47 laari and 49 laari respectively.

Despite the price increase in Maldives, oil prices have been falling in the world market. The price in the US is $92.21 per barrel which is a reduction of 68c; while the price in the UK is $110.58 per crude oil barrel which is a reduction of 84c.
