President: Medical professionals owed an immense debt of gratitude

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Saturday, said that Maldives owed an immense debt of gratitude to its medical professionals for the risks they continue to undertake on a daily basis to keep the people safe from COVID-19.

The President made the remark in a short statement via his official Twitter account on occasion of National Doctors Day.

“#MaldivianDoctorsDay this year arrives at a time when the service and sacrifice of our doctors to the nation is on profound display,” said the President.

The President offered his sincere gratitude, and said that the entire nation owed medical professionals an immense debt of gratitude

DOCTORS UNWAVERING IN THEIR COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL CARE

Health Minister Abdulla Ameen also expressed his appreciation in a short statement via his own Twitter account.

Ameen said doctors remained unwavering in their commitment to provide exceptional care, even during such unprecedented times.

“My deepest gratitude to our dedicated doctors for their unwavering commitment to provide exceptional care during these unprecedented times,” said Ameen. “Appreciating you today and every day for the tireless work you do to save humanity.”

HONOR THEIR SACRIFICE BY LISTENING TO THEM

Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi, too, expressed appreciation.

She noted that many medical professionals across the globe had lost their lives trying to save others, but that medical professionals continued to work selflessly day and night to save lives.

Mariya said her prayers, thoughts and best wishes were with doctors and everyone on the frontlines of the battle to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Maldives.

She urged the people to honor their sacrifice by listening to their instructions and keeping safe.
