Two more locals recover from Covid-19, only two remain positive

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed that two more individuals have recovered from the Covid-19 virus.

HPA announced that two locals in the quarantine facility of Velidhoo had made full recoveries from the virus. Currently, only two locals remain positive for the virus in the Maldives.

A total of five locals had tested positive for the virus after returning back from abroad. They are four locals that returned from the UK and one that returned from the Philippines.

All locals returning back to the country are to undergo a mandatory quarantine period of 14-days. They are released after testing negative for the virus.

The Maldives has confirmed 20 cases of the virus so far. Currently, only two remain positive after 13 foreigners and three locals made full recoveries from the virus. Two tourists had departed from the Maldives before the authorities received their test results as positive for the virus. The two tourists had departed after completing their quarantine period.
