Maldivian medical students in Philippines set to return

Maldivian medical students in Philipines are set to return to the country, the government has announced.

Government spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez made the announcement that 47 students will be returning from the Philippines tonight. The students will depart tonight and will reach the Maldives by tomorrow night.

“The students will arrive tomorrow night after traveling to Qatar,” said Mabrouq.

The government had announced the medical students abroad are set to return to assist with the current situation in the Maldives will with the Covid-19 virus. Maldivian medical students in Nepal and Pakistan have also previously returned.
