Tourist in aaaVeee Nature's Paradise tests negative, resort reopened

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, said the foreign national in aaaVeee Nature’s Park in Maldives (Dh. Dhoores), who had exhibited symptoms consistent with COVID-19, has tested negative for the virus.

The temporary restrictive measures which had been implemented on the resort have now been lifted.

Resorts which continue to be monitored by HPA are; Furaveri Island Resort & Spa, Anantara Kihavah and Gili Lankanfushi. Restrictive measures will remain in place until HPA receives test results and completes contact tracing.

13 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives, all of whom are foreign nationals who were either working or vacationing in resorts or safaris. Of the 13 people, five were from Kuredu Island Resort, two from Sandies Bathala, two from Kuramathi Island Resort, two from Anantara Dhigu, and two from Island Safari-1.

23 people are at the Farukolhufushi Isolation Facility, and 15 are at the Hulhule’ Island Hotel (HIH).
