Suspected virus case in Vilimale' being moved to isolation

Authorities have begun work to relocate a local from the ward of Vilimale’ after the person began exhibiting symptoms of the Covid-19 virus.

The person is to be moved to the isolation center in Farukolhufushi and government spokesperson Mabrook Azeez informed the media that the local had arrived from South Korea. The Maldives has imposed travel restrictions on two regions of South Korea and Mabrook clarified that the person had not traveled from those two regions.

Contact tracing of the man was being conducted and authorities have requested a number of people to go into home isolation.
