Thulusdhoo magistrate Ainaan resigns

Ainaan Ali, the magistrate of K. Thulusdhoo Magistrate Court has resigned.

A Judicial Service Commission official confirmed the news to “Sun”.

Ainaan’s removal process was underway in the Parliament due to an ethics and disciplinary case against him by the JSC. The Judiciary Committee of the Parliament had supported the decision to remove him by the JSC and had forwarded to the case to the Parliament before the magistrate resigned.

JSC did not specifically state the violations of ethics carried out by the magistrate. He was suspended by the JSC after the investigation was commenced.

The Magistrate’s resignation comes on the same day that the Criminal Court Judge Ahmed Hailam and R. Maakurath Court’s Magistrate Adnan Hussain also resigned.
