President opens The Residence Maldives resort

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has opened The Residence Maldives resort, located at Ga. Falhumaafushi.

The ceremony was held this afternoon at the resort, and was attended by officials of resort developer Bonavista Maldives Pte Ltd and senior officials of the government.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President congratulated Bonavista Maldives, and expressed his gratitude to the company for all their contribution to the development of Maldives.

The Residence Maldives comprises of 94 luxury villas.

Following the agreement for the construction of Kooddoo Airport, Bonavista Maldives has also been leased Ga. Dhigurah for 50 years for the development of a resort of 177 rooms.

The Residence is a world famous hotel chain.
