Mohamed Nasheed the speaker of the Parliament has stated that people calling for violence when the controversial report by Maldivian Democracy Network is under investigation are seeking to distract the focus on the people traveling for war and jihad in other countries.
Nasheed stated so in today’s parliamentary session that these people permitting blood and calling for murder belonged to the same group of people who travel for wars.
“The biggest problem currently faced by the country is by those who seek to obstruct and obscure the investigation started by the government into the people send others to wars in other countries by floating the other report (MDN report),” said Nasheed.
Nasheed also expressed concern that police were incapable of taking action against the people who were in the country and behind the terrorist activities, even when they have the necessary information regarding these people.
“The Parliament did not go into recess and you (MPs) worked without sleeping to create the amendments needed for the laws on the request of the government. But we are not seeing any actions in response to these activities. A constitutional state cannot be run in this manner.” said Nasheed.
