President nominates four names for Information Commissioner

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has selected four names from the applications received for the post of the Information Commissioner and sent them to the parliament for approval. The names were announced in Monday's parliamentary session. The four names sent by the president are:

1) Hussain Fiyaaz Moosa

2) Ahmed Fayaz

3) Ahmed Aahidh Rasheed

4) Fathimath Sausan

There were a total of nine applications received for the post of the Information Commissioner, out of these the president has sent fou names to the parliament. The names will now be deliberated in the Independent Institutions Committee of the parliament. The post of the Information Commissioner was created under the previous administration and is tasked with ensuring that there are no obstacles in attaining information from state institutions.
