President of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Hassan Luthfee has rendered his resignation in face of the impending no-confidence vote against him at the Parliament.
Luthfee had been on leave since February 10, and hadn’t returned back to work even after his leave expired over three months ago. He had, however, regularly withdrawn his salary.
The issue came to the attention of the Independent Institutions Committee of the Parliament, which, last Tuesday, made the decision to call for a no-confidence vote against Luthfee.
President’s Office has confirmed Luthfee rendered his letter of resignation last Tuesday.
Luthfee was appointed to ACC on October 13, 2010. His resignation comes one year short of a decade of service at the commission.
