Political parties to hold discussions

The government has made the decision to hold discussions between the political parties represented in the Parliament.

This decision was made last night after President Dr Mohamed Waheed’s meeting with leaders of political parties at Bandos Island Resort.

According to the President’s Office, in order to implement the necessary reforms, it is crucial that the Parliament sittings are resumed; and this can only be done through dialogue between the political parties represented in the Parliament.

These discussions will be coordinated by Party-talks Moderator Ahmed Mujtaba.
