Finance Ministry of Maldives has posted a tender notice for construction of Planning and Infrastructure building in Hulhumale’.
The tender notice, posted by the ministry reads that the Ministry of Finance is seeking a party that will undertake the project under a full turnkey construction contract (EPC). The bidding is open for both national and international companies.
Interested parties need to pay a non-refundable registration fee of USD 100 (MVR 1500) to join the bidding process.
The notice also states that a bid security of MVR 1 million (or USD equal to MVR 1 million) has to be paid within the first 148 days after bids are unsealed.
Moreover, the notice also included that soft copies of related documents of the project will be made available from the website of Finance Ministry from May 26 onwards.
Both the buildings of Finance Ministry and Planning Ministry is to be built in Hulhumale’. Planning Ministry is now run in the same building as the Housing Ministry.
During his Presidential address of 2019, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that the government will not be constructing any of their new buildings in Male’ City. He said that this is to increase unfilled lands in the city.
