The government have made the decision to limit the number of vehicles in Male’ City.
Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Council Shamau Shareef stated that work of limiting the number of vehicles in Male’ City is ongoing.
“A lot is being done in collaboration with the Transport Ministry, Maldives Police Service and President’s Office to limit the number of vehicles. We are all trying to make Male’ City a green and easy city to live,” said Shamau.

The increase in the number of vehicles in Male’ has led to difficulties for both pedestrians and vehicles.
Moreover, Male’ also have issues in parking vehicles due to the congestion.
Male’ City Council have been constructing parking areas in the city.
