CNI delays presenting report to President to tomorrow

The Commission of National Inquiry (CNI), established to investigate the transfer of government on 7 February, has delayed sending its report to the President to tomorrow.

The earlier decision was that the report would be sent to the President, the Prosecutor General and the Speaker of Parliament today; and shared with the public tomorrow.

Spokesperson of the President’s Office Abbas Adil Riza said that subsequent to a request by the President, the CNI will present its report to the President before 10:00 tomorrow.

“Once the President gets it, it will be publicized,” Abbas said.

He said that the CNI has the authority to work on the report until the end of the month, and that this decision was made in order to allow them time to fully finalise the report.

The Police and Military are preparing for any violence that may occur following this report. Also, a meeting on the issues to be addressed after the report is publicised is scheduled for tomorrow night.
