Woman found dead in the sea in Fuvahmulah

A 47-year-old woman has been found dead in the sea in southern Funaadu in Fuvahmulah.

Funaadu Council Vice President Ibrahim Abdullah said today that the incident was reported to the Council at around 11:30 today, and that the woman has been identified as Hawwa Shareefa of Blue House.

He cited doctors and said that she was dead by the time she was taken to the hospital.

According to Ibrahim Abdullah, the reason for this incident is not yet known. He however noted that Shareefa suffers from a mental disorder.

Assistant Manager of Fuvahmulah Hospital Siana Naseer said that it is not likely that Shareefa had been in the sea for a long time before she was removed.

Sun Online has been informed that she was seen by islanders one hour before she was found dead.
