Party Leaders officially invited to report discussions

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has sent out the official invitation to leaders of political parties to join the discussions on action to be taken following the presentation of the report by the Commission of National Inquiry (CNI), formed to probe the transfer of power.

The President’s Office said that the invitation for the meeting at Bandos Island Resort on Thursday at 21:00 was sent out yesterday.

The political parties invited to join the talks are MDP, DRP, PPM, Qaumee Party, Adhaalath Party, Jumhooree Party, People’s Alliance and Maldives Reform Movement.

President Dr Waheed announced these discussions during his recent visit to Sri Lanka. He said that the meetings will be held after the CNI publicises its report, and encouraged the participation of all parties in these talks.

Former President and President of PPM Maumoon Abdul Gayoom said yesterday that PPM will participate in these talks.
