The names of the 20 appointees to President’s Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s Cabinet have been sent forward to the Government Oversight Committee for evaluation by the Parliament this Monday morning.
The committee will evaluate the 19 Cabinet ministers and the Attorney General and submit a report on its findings to the Parliament.

The Parliament will take its vote on endorsing the Cabinet appointees after the committee makes its decision.
The Maldivian Constitution requires Cabinet appointees to be backed by the Parliament.
The government coalition now enjoys control of several crucial Parliament committees, including the Government Oversight Committee after the committee reshuffles last Sunday.
