Voter's list released after corrections

Elections Commission has re-released the voter's list for the Presidential Election this September after addressing the concerns regarding the list. 

When the opportunity was opened to file complaints regarding the voter's list, a total of 1778 complaints were submitted. The Commission has made 734 corrections and published it on the state Gazette today. 

The Commission initially said that the complaints to the voter's list will be addressed within five days and if the political parties are not happy with the response of the Commission, parties will be given the opportunity to file suit at the High Court. 

Elections Commission said that the opportunity is opened until 12 July to file any complaints regarding the voter's list published today. And after that, no changes can be made to the list. 

There are 263,000 people on the voter's list for the Presidential Election this September. 

The Elections Commission said that the final list for the Presidential Election will be much better than the list for the previous Local Council Election.
