The second batch of Maldives National University (MNU)’s PhD program, held in association with Management Science University of Malaysia, has started with 13 students.

The 13 students of PhD Batch Two were awarded their letters of acceptance to the program by State Minister at Ministry of Education, Ahmed Shafeeu, in a function held at the university this Thursday morning.

MNU began its PhD program with MSU in 2017 with 12 students.

The PhD is in the field of business.

MNU has been running PhD programs with its own curriculum since 2013.

However, the PhD program with MSU is based on MSU’s curriculum.

Speaking at this Thursday’s function, State Minister Shafeeu said the PhD program has helped realize the purpose behind the establishment of MNU.

“This shows how far the National University has come. It’s there in the purpose behind the university’s establishment; spreading knowledge, creating knowledge, and researching the facts in the different fields needed for the nation,” said Shafeeu.
