Naadhira released by Criminal Court

Criminal Court has released the former Council Member of PPM, Aminath Naadhira, who was arrested during the opposition protest rally last night.

She was released when she was taken to the court for her remand hearing.

After the hearing, her lawyer said that she was charged with attacking a female officer of the police and was requested that she be detained for investigation.

However with no evidence of the crime, the lawyer said that the police could not show any injuries sustained by the police officer.

Two others were arrested and released along with Naadhira last night at the opposition rally following the Supreme Court ruling to release nine political figures in jail.
