Blood Bank hosts problem solving workshop in immunohematology

Maldives Blood Bank has hosted a problem solving workshop for immunohematology staff in the Maldives.

Doctors from two US hospitals are teaching the program held in association with Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine, Indian Immunohematology Initiative through the STO and IGMH Department of Laboratory Medicine.

A total of 13 employee are taking part in the workshop being held from 31 January to 2 February. Laboratory employees from IGMH, Hulhumale' Hospital, ADK Hospital and Maldivian Blood Services are taking part in the workshop.

Participants are taught antibody screening and antibody identification along with classification of blood types A, B and O.

STO said that they took part in the workshop to bring their products to the healthcare employees.
