MP Ilham attacked

Gemanafushi MP Ilham Ahmed has been attacked by a group today.

Police said that Ilham was assaulted at around 17:15 by a group, who stopped him while he was passing by the traffic light on Chaandhanee magu on his motorcycle.

Ilham told Sun Online that he was on his way home from a meeting.

“They came at me, shouting. So I got off the motorcycle. They pushed and hit me, and knocked down my motorcycle as well,” Ilham said.

He suffered minor injuries, while his motorcycle is damaged to some extent.

Police said that the matter is under investigation.
