Committee passes annual budget of 27.9 billion as the government proposed

The Budget Committee of the Parliament has passed the Annual State Budget for 2018 as the originally proposed by the government.

Although no amendments were made to the budget, the Committee did include some recommendations and an amendment which does not change the total sum of the budget.

The budget was passed at a Committee meeting boycotted by the opposition MPs with the vote of the 12 MPs of the government coalition.

The amendment was the budget to build a jail in Kaafu Kaashidhoo being changed to a land reclamation project for Kaafu Huraa. The amendment was passed with the unanimous vote of all 12 MPs.
