2 hospitalized after motorcycle collision in Vilingili

Two people have been hospitalized with injuries after a traffic collision involving two motorcycles at G. A. Vilingili this Saturday.

A source from Vilingili who spoke to “Sun” said the collision took place on the main road of the island, near the cemetery, at approximately 11 am.

An eye witness reported the two motorcycles had been going at high speed towards each other when they collided. The eye witness said both vehicles suffered extensive damage due to the collision.

The two accident victims are being treated at the G. A. Atoll Hospital in Vilingili.

The hospital reported the accident victims were one 31-year-old male and one 19-year-old male. The hospital said both accident victims were being kept under observation, and that the information regarding the extent of their injuries were still under assessment.
