National Award of Recognition presented to 25 parties

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has presented the National Award of Recognition to 25 parties.

The 24 people and one private organization which won the National Award of Recognition this year where presented at the Republic Day function held at Dharubaaruge last Saturday night.

Winners of the National Award of Recognition 2017 are:

- Al-Qaria Fathimath Rasheedha, in the area of recitation and teaching of Quran

- Uz. Moosa Anwar Hassan, in the area of promoting Islamic awareness and teaching Islamic studies

- Uz. Abdul Mueed Hassan, in the area of Dhivehi literature

- Mohamed Shathir, in the area of Maldivian history - creating awareness

- Ahmed Zameer, in the area of national heritage - preservation of national heritage

- Abdulla Mushthaq Rashaad, in the area of education - establishment and management of educational institutions

- Mohamed Rasheed, in the area of management

- Fathimath Zaeema, in the area of social services - charitable work

- Asiyath Najeeba, in the area of small and medium enterprises - tailoring and embroidery

- Ali Hassan, in the area of boat building - designing and building sailboats and yachts

- Aminath Leela, in the area of arts and crafts - contributing to and promoting craftsmanship

- Mohamed Ali Janah, in the area of architecture and construction – architecture, construction and consultancy

- Abdulla Azmeen, in the area of information and news dissemination – information dissemination

- Ali Saleem, in the area of sports - sports management and technical services to sports development

- Abdul Ghafoor Ali, in the area of sports - professional sportsman in sea sports, and training

- Abdulla Niyaz, in the area of sports – contributing to and promotion of exercise and fitness

- Fathimath Rishma, in the area of sports - professional sportsman and training

- Mohamed Shafy, in the area of visual arts – photography

- Mohamed Abdul Ghanee, in the area of performing arts – singing, training, and composition

- Ibrahim Rasheed, in the area of performing arts – acting in feature film and drama, training, and script writing

- First Sergeant Samha Yoosuf, in the area of women – performing non-stereotypical job: Weapon Instructor at MNDF

- Mariyam Shifzan, in the area of women – performing non-stereotypical job: Senior Airworthiness Engineer at Maldives Civil Aviation Authority

- Rabia Hussain, in the area of women

- Mohamed Sharif, in the area of youth – introduction of products and services beneficial to the society

The private association which won the National Award of Recognition is:

-Naifaru Juvenile, in the area of Social Services

Meanwhile, two honorees were presented with the prestigious National Award of Honor this year. Abdulla Afeef was honored for his contribution to Dhivehi literature and promotion of Dhivehi poetry; and Dr. Mohamed Ahmed was honored for his contribution in the area of health and promotion of public health.
