Body of the Addu City man who passed away in Bangladesh last Thursday has been brought back to the country and returned to the family.
The body of Abdulla Fathuhee (Boakoshaa Fathuhee), 67, from Kalarumaage in Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Addu City was returned to the family last Friday.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the body was transported back to the country at the request of the family.
Fathuhee had passed away unexpectedly just one day before he was due to return back to Maldives.
He had travelled to Bangladesh in October to marry a woman from the country. He had reportedly travelled to Bangladesh after putting up his house for a loan of approximately MVR 100,000, a decision protested by his children.
Fathuhee is survived by 12 children; 6 male and 6 females from two marriages.
Fathuhee’s death is under investigation by the Maldivian police.
