Two Maldivians attempting to cross the Turkey border into Syria have been apprehended and brought back to Maldives.
Police media official reported the two individuals were apprehended in an operation run by the Turkish security forces. He said the two individuals were brought back to Maldives last Friday.
The police report the court has remanded the two to 15 days in custody.
No further information regarding the two individuals have been released by the authorities.
Three Maldivians suspected of attempting to join militant groups in the war in Syria were arrested from Turkey and deported back to Maldives just last month.
