Zaid shifts support from Maumoon to Yameen

Former member of the Malé City Council and PPM Council Member, Zaidul Ameen has shifted his support to the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

He made the announcement in a tweet sent out tonight.

While Zaid has shifted allegiance to President Yameen, he is currently charged with blackmailing a Judge. He was in jail for a long time before he was released.

In his tweet, Zaeed said that he has decided to withdraw his support for the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Although he didn't specify as to why that is, he said he supports the continual of the Yameen Presidency.

Zaid has worked beside President Maumoon when the ruling party split into two factions. In his tweet, however, he said that he would be doing everything he can to elect President Yameen to a second term.
