Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has said that the reports from some media outlets reporting that there is an issue with the water produced by the company is false.
Talking to Sun MEdia, the Manager of Business Development at MWSC, Ali Irushad said that the company has received complaints from customers following the reports from some media outlets in the country has reported that the water produced by MWSC has the disinfecting chemical in excess in the water and the MWSC has conducted more tests and investigated into the matter.
And the test results show that the chemical used to disinfect germs that form in the water is within the regulation standard from the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and the United Nation's World Health Organization (WHO).
He said that if there is any issue with the water supplied across the city, customers report them to the company.
Irushan also noted that the water and sewerage system established by MWSC has gained the public trust and thanked the public.
Under the decentralization project under the MWSC Water Security Plan, the company has established plans to implement a water and sewerage system appropriate for a population of 300,000. And so on 8 October, MWSC inaugurated the new RO Annex to provide a continuous supply of water to the capital city.
