A Maldivian man has been charges over the death of an expatriate worker at the Life water plant in K. Hinmafushi on July 19.
An official from Prosecutor General’s Office who spoke to “Sun” said the suspect was pressed with two charges; physical contact and criminal force.
The PG’s Office provided no details regarding the charges, nor revealed the identity of the accused.
The police have not revealed whether the 38-year-old foreigner died of natural causes or was murdered.
Two suspects were arrested in the case; a 44-year-old Maldivian man and a 33-year-old Maldivian man; one of them the plant’s manager. One of the suspects was later released by the court as he was handcuffed during the arrest.
