Afrah, wanted in connection with Anas’ murder apprehended

Afrah Abdul Razzaq – a suspect wanted in connection with the murder of Mohamed Anas – has been apprehended by the authorities.

Anas was stabbed to death inside the Litus Service Center in Male’ City on July 31.

Authorities located the 21-year-old suspect from M. Lonumidhilige in Male’ City in hiding in Ma. Nevercone, located near Jalaaluddin Mosque.

The police arrested apprehended Afrah under court order this Sunday afternoon.

They have also run a search on his hideout.

Police had released the photos of both Afrah and another suspect – Mohamed Shaz from Gulfaamuge in Th. Kinbidhoo for investigation into Anas’ murder. Both Shaz and Afrah have now been apprehended.

Additional suspects were arrested in connection with the case in August, including a minor who was arrested during a raid on M. Dhimisk in Male’ City.

Speaking during a press conference in Iskandhar Building last week, Chief Station Inspector Mohamed Samah reported the investigation into Anas’ murder was 99 percent complete, and that the investigation was currently at the last stage.
