Gang-relation violence erupted in Male’ City last Saturday night, after a hiatus of one week, leaving a young man with head injuries.
Police reported the assault took place in the street where the Maafaru Guesthouse is located, and that an individual injured in the assault was taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. The police refused to disclose any further details.
Director of IGMH’s Public Relations and Media Department, Ahmed Mausoom reported to “Sun” on Saturday night that a 29-year-old male injured in the assault was given emergency treatment from the hospital.
He said the man showed few visible signs of injury on the outside, but had sustained head injuries. Mausoom said the full extent of the injuries can only be confirmed after additional tests and scans.
“Doesn’t look like he was attacked with a sharp object. There aren’t any injuries visible on the outside. But there is some blood coming from his head. He is conscious. But he is not in good condition,” said Mausoom.
A stabbing took place in Male’ City last on September 29, when a 23-year-old at the G-6 Cafe was stabbed in two places on his back. The family reports the young man is recovering from his injuries.
