Three people on board the "Ummeedhu" cargo boat traveling from Malé City to Alifu Alifu atoll who went missing after their vessel sank has been found at sea afloat with the help of some pallets.
Information Officer of MNDF, Ibrahim Azim said that the vessel reported it was sinking around 5:30 a.m. and the position of the vessel was given as seven miles west of Kaafu Bolifushi but there were no signs of a sunken vessel in that area.
MNDF said that they began a search using their helicopter and requested assistance from the seaplanes traveling in the region.
A police media official said that the two expatriates and the local on board the cargo vessel were found out from Rannaalhi Resort on pallets and they are all in good health.
The authorities are bringing the three people to Malé City on a police launch.
