FENAKA Corporation has started a transportation project to deliver a 200 kW generator from Lhaviyani Hinnavar to Shaviyani Bilehffahi in an effort to resolve the electricity issue in the island.
The fire incident at the powerhouse of Bilehffahi consumed the entire building beyond use. Power on the the island has been restored on a temporary setup with a 120 kW generator and a panel board brought in from Shaviyani Feydhoo.
Managing Director of FENAKA Corporation, Ahmed Shareef told Sun Media that they are working to take a 200 kW generator set at Hinnavaru to Bilehffahi. He said that the generator being taken to Bilehffahi is fairly new and recently overhauled.
While an announcement has been made to find a contractor to build a permanent powerhouse on the island, interested parties are to attend the FENAKA Head Office for information on Sunday and submit an estimate on Thursday.
