Central Henveyru MP Ali Azim has been sent summons to attend the police headquarters at noon, coming Thursday.
Azim was sent the summons this Wednesday.
The summons reads that Azim is suspected of being a part of a group of MPs who obstructed military officers from performing their duty in an incident on July 31. He was sent the summons so police can extract his statement for the investigation.
Azim alleges the investigation was part of a ploy by the government to sideline all opposition MPs and gain majority in the parliament.
The complaint regarding what took place in the parliament on July 31 was filed with the police by Ministry of Defense.
