Inmate at Asseyri Prison suffers a stroke

An inmate from the Asseyri Prison in Kaafu Hinmafushi has started treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) following a stroke at the prison.

Maldives Correctional Service said that that the inmate was a 47-year-old man serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Correctional Service said that the man had sustained a stroke in the past as well and is now in critical condition.
