Mercure Hotels Maldives Kooddoo: First resort with airport

President Yameen has officially inaugurated Mercure Hotels Maldives Kooddoo developed in Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo.

At the grand ceremony to open the resort and the city hotel, Kooddoo Resort presented a plaque of appreciation by the Chairman of Pristine Islands Investment Maldives Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Ronald Leo and Chairman of Hotels and Resorts Construction Pvt. Ltd Mr. Mohamed Ali Janah.

A shareholder of the resort, Mohamed Ali Janah said that Kooddoo Resort is the first resort in the world to be developed with an airport with water bungalows. And that they are working to get the resort on the World Record books.

Mercure Kooddoo Hotel is a resort hotel developed by Pristine Islands Investment Maldives Pvt. Ltd. The hotel is a 68 villa mid-scale resort developed on Kooddoo Island, which is a 50-minute domestic flight south of Malé.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed at the ceremony, between the Ministry of Tourism, Pristine Islands Investment Maldives Pvt. Ltd, and Hotels and Resorts Construction Pvt. Ltd, to create 1000 training and employment opportunities for the youth from North Huvadhoo Atoll.
