Three suspects have been arrested in connection with Saturday night’s stabbings in Male’ City which left one dead and one injured, reports Maldives Police Service.
Two young men – a 19-year-old and a 24-year-old were stabbed in the Dhunburi Mosque area of Maafannu district on Saturday night. The 19-year-old passed away shortly after he was taken to the hospital while the 24-year-old remains hospitalized at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
“Sun” has been informed the young man who passed away due to the stabbings in Moosa Ahmed Manik from Dheyliyaage in V. Keyodhoo.
Police media official reports three suspects have been arrested in connection with the stabbings. The official refused to disclose any details as it is an ongoing investigation.
One of the knives used in the stabbings and two motorbikes used by the attackers was found at the scene of crime.
The latest stabbings come in the wake of a serious of stabbings a month ago in Male’ City, which left 24-year-old Nadheem Abdul Raheem and 25-year-old Ahmed Anas, dead.
