The trial against the three people charged in the disappearance of the journalist, Ahmed Rilwan, has been scheduled to begin tomorrow.
The charges were brought forth against Mohamed Suaid (Seenu Hulhudhoo), Ahmed Aalif Rauf (Malé City) and Mohamed Nooradheen (Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo).
All three are charged with terrorism by the state. The first hearing in the trial is set for 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.
Police had previously arrested the accused, Ahmed Aalif Rauf and Mohamed Nooradheen but they were released in July 2016.
Aalif Rauf is the owner of the red car into which Rilwan was allegedly forced into the night he disappeared. And Nooradheen is the person who uses the car in Hulhumalé.
Rilwan was last seen past midnight on the night of 7 August 2014.
In a press conference related to the case held last year, the police said that screaming was heard three times in the area where car was on the night Rilwan disappeared. And at the time, the car's left door was open and an arm reaching out was seen by a witness.
Police then said that the Rilwan's disappearance was pre-planed and the person involved in following Rilwan is the accused, Mohamed Suaid.
